About artist

I am very fortunate to grow up surrounded by art. My mother is an active artist. From an early age, she exposed me to the world of art. I consistently watched her make art. During her creative process, she talked me through her process. She took me to many different museums and galleries. I met many other different artists, collectors and people related to the business through my mother. I was surrounded by art conversations.

During elementary school years, I fell in love with Marc Chagall and Picasso’s paintings that were displayed on my art text book. My heart twinkled when I saw Chagall’s “America Windows” at the Art Institute of Chicago during my teenage years.

Art has progressed so quickly and into so many directions since Chagall and Picasso. But I always attract to two dimensional format. The medium of drawing, painting and printmaking always connect with me. And I feel most comfortable in speaking the language of two dimensional works. The medium of oil painting surely has a special magic spell over me. And the smell of linseed oil wakes up my soul.

I sill have a long way to go in learning the skills and techniques that all the wonderful and great artists have accomplished. Recently, I have been focusing my studies on Henri Matisse, Terry Winters, Josef Albers, Ellsworth Kelly and Wayne Thiebaud. But as all know, these are just a few of hundreds of other greats that I can take away from. So many amazing and wonderful artists are all great teachers to me. My goal is to create great art.
